The BBC reported on Tuesday (March 5). The decision taken by the French Parliament on Monday (March 4) set a unique precedent in the world. Lawmakers from both sides of parliament voted to constitutionalize the right to abortion. 

780 lawmakers voted in favor of abortion and 72 voted against. When the results were announced, the legislators greeted the historic moment with a standing ovation. Through this, the 25th amendment was brought to the constitution of France made in 1958. Before this, the country's constitution was last amended in 2008.
